Country Life

Okay, I really should be in bed, but I thought I just HAVE to post this one! It's too cute, at least I think so!

This evening we were heading home after an outing with Daddy, delivering some shingles. The children were getting tired & cranky and had had about enough of their carseats. We tried singing for a while, and it helped, for a while . . . I was pointing out landmarks along the way, in an effort to distract the little folks from the fact that they were STILL tied up. We came past the building that formerly housed 'Uncle Rooster's' (a mom and pop type of hot dog/sandwich shop, for those of you who don't know) so I said,

"Look! There's the old 'Rooster's', so do you know what's next?" (Trying to get Benji to say, "Home".)

At this point David starts clucking like a hen, and Katri very promptly yells out,

"EGG!!!"

We laughed so hard!! The children decided something must have been funny, and they joined right in. It saved us long enough to get us home and pop the children into their bubble bath (a great soother at the end of a long day!).

Yes, our chickens are pretty popular right now. The children seem to think that it's a never ending treasure hunt, running out and checking for eggs. The opportunity to present one (or more) to Mama is reason for tremendous pride.
