Thrifty Tip #1

Have you ever tried freezing cheese, only to be frustrated with the crumbly mess it turns into? I recently was informed of a way to prevent that from happening, and it really REALLY works!

When you take the cheese out of the freezer, just place it directly on top of your refrigerator for 24 hours. Done. (I learned that putting a tea towel underneath is a good idea, it sweats like crazy!) The cheese will be soft and warm, just put it in the frig to chill, and then slice your velveeta-like cheddar! We think the texture is even better than before it's frozen!

Now you can stock up as much as you want when you find a good deal on cheese.

Many thanks to my sister-in-law, Rachel, for this tip.

Hey, thanks for the tip! :) I've had the crumbly mess too many times!

By the way, I came over here from your comment on my cooking site and was reading some posts and in one of them there was a picture of Dan and Jan... anyway, I just had to tell you that I'm Jan's big sister. :)
