Some days, I stop and look around . . . and just can't believe that these adorable little children (who are busily tearing things up faster than I can put them back) are actually mine! (Okay, OURS, but then I can't believe I got such a wonderful Daddy for them either!)
I know I'm prejudiced, but still, it amazes me how blessed I am, and how much I just take it all for granted. In the everyday grind, it's easy to forget that I should be treasuring every moment. Or to put it another way, as I was sleepily mumbling to David last night, just before we both lost consciousness,
"Everyone says these are the best days of our lives, but I can hardly stay on top enough to even know what's going on most of the time."
Sigh. Keeping life in perspective. It's so easy to say, and so hard to do!

Just a few cute things that have been going on in this house.
Benji is so into building with his blocks these days. He's forever coming and getting me to show me some 'beautiful', 'pretty' or 'nice' thing that he's created. And I must admit, he is getting pretty imaginative!
See the tiny 'lights' on the tip top? Those are a fairly recent invention. And I think that's a blue & orange airplane on its landing strip in the front there.
Life with his imaginary friends keeps Benji hopping too. His longtime buddy "Daughter" (who is male, by the way) has recently been joined by 'Classy D'Airy', who is sometimes referred to simply as 'Airy'. (Would someone please tell me if I'm spelling these right?) They live in a place called 'D'Hindra', which was formerly known as 'Gasoline'. I've been trying to figure out where those places are. One clue came the other day as Benji was going to Classy D'Airy's house for a picnic, and it sure sounded like he was talking to Airy in our bedroom . . . which is kind of scary! :)
Stories about Daughter abound, and we have noticed a trend, whatever we have, or are doing, Daughter has a bigger one, has done it in a bigger better way, or something else that completely eclipses whatever is going on. :) We're starting to wish that Daughter would join us and chip in all of his amazing abilities and possesions!
Katri is a very busy little girl. She has a half a dozen babies that all require a lot of attention, primarily rocking, patting their backs and being told, 'Nonny, Nonny, Nonny" They also like to be swaddled in blankets, which she finds very frustrating as she can't hold them very well when they're all bundled up. Maybe that's why they all like to live in their birthday suits, for easier mobility . . .
Then there are all of Benji's luscious looking block creations to be disassembled, much to his grief!
It's so fun watching little minds develop and unfold.
The trick is in keeping my eyes 'open' to see it.

What an adorable picture of your sweet little ones, Rachel! And Benji's block creations look great.
I share the challenge of treasuring the moments and blessings as they come. May the Lord guide our hearts and minds!
